MOVE POLICY:
Purpose
This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities related to residential moves within Legends of Cornerstone Condominiums. Its intent is to:
- Minimize damage to common property
- Reduce disruptions to other residents
- Ensure compliance with the Bylaws of Legends of Cornerstone. Condominium Corporation No. 1810190.
- Provide sufficient notice for coordination of security and elevator use
It is the responsibility of the unit owner to ensure that all moving procedures are followed and that all required information is provided accurately at the time of booking. All move requests must be submitted by the unit owner or their authorized representative through the Condominium Management Company’s resident portal.
Bylaw Reference
This policy enforces Bylaw 62(g) of the Legends of Cornerstone Condominiums, which states:
(i) The Manager or Board must receive at least seven (7) days’ notice for moves, and forty-eight (48) hours’ notice for furniture and chattel deliveries.
(ii) Moves and deliveries must occur between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM in blocks not exceeding three (3) hours.
(iii) Boxes must be flattened and recycled appropriately; furniture and electronics must not be discarded on the property.
(iv) Vehicles must remain on paved areas and may not back into front entries or patios.
(v) Violations may result in monetary sanctions under Bylaw 44.
(vi) Fees and penalties may be amended at the sole discretion of the Board.
Scheduling a Move
- Moves are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Permitted move times are:
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Seven (7) days a week
- Only one time slot per unit will be allowed without prior Board approval. If additional time is required, contact the Condominium Management Company in advance. Additional fees may apply.
- Move requests must be submitted at least seven (7) days in advance. Requests submitted with less than seven days’ notice are subject to:
- Availability
- A $50 late booking fee, plus applicable processing charges
Elevator Use
- Only the eastern elevator in Buildings 1000 and 2000 will be locked out and made available for moves.
- Elevator protection pads will be installed prior to the move and must remain in place for the duration of the move.
- Use of both elevators is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in:
- Forfeiture of the full damage deposit
- A $100 surcharge for unauthorized or unscheduled moves
Note: If the designated elevator is unavailable due to emergency or repair, temporary use of the alternate elevator may be permitted without lock-out privileges and must not be propped open to allow continuous access for other residents.
Residents on the first floor requiring elevator access must indicate this at the time of booking.
Use of Stairwells
Moves are not permitted via stairwells without written Board approval. If an item will not fit into the elevator, a written request must be made during the booking process.
Unauthorized stairwell use will result in:
- Forfeiture of the full damage deposit (if used during a booked move)
- A $100 surcharge (if used during an unapproved or unscheduled move)
Move Fees
- A $250 move fee applies to all scheduled moves, which includes:
- $100 refundable damage deposit
- $150 non-refundable fee to cover security costs
- Payment must be made by credit card through the resident portal at the time of booking.
- The damage deposit will be refunded within 7 days of the move, pending inspection and confirmation that no damage occurred.
- Damage that exceeds the deposit will be charged to the unit owner.
- Unscheduled or unauthorized moves are subject to the full $250 non-refundable fee, plus any applicable damage charges or fines.
Additional Rules and Penalties
- Security personnel will be hired and present during all scheduled moves. Security is responsible for:
- Monitoring all entry/exit doors
- Overseeing proper elevator use
- Reporting any incidents or damage
- No doors may be left open and unattended to prevent unauthorized access to the building. Violation will result in forfeiture of the full damage deposit.
- Residents must stage their move within the lobby area only. Entry/exit doors must always remain secured.
- Furniture or oversized household items may not be left in garbage rooms or on the property. Illegal dumping will result in:
- A fine
- Removal and disposal fees charged to the unit owner
Unit Owner Responsibility for Tenant Moves
- Unit owners are fully responsible for all tenant moves.
- If a tenant conducts a move without scheduling and approval, the $250 fee will be charged to the unit owner.
- The unit owner is liable for:
- Any damage to common property
- Any bylaw violations, regardless of whether the move was approved
Appeals Process
Residents or owners may submit written appeals regarding fines or withheld deposits to the Board within 30 days of receiving notice of the sanction. Appeals must include:
- Unit number
- Date of move
- Nature of appeal
- Supporting documentation or photos (if applicable)
Acknowledgment
By booking a move, the unit owner or their authorized representative confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Move Policy in its entirety.

- New Years Eve (December 31)
- New Years Day (January 1)
- Family Day (Alberta; third Monday in February; full weekend)
- Easter (includes Good Friday and Easter Monday; full weekend; varies yearly between March 20-April 23)
- Victoria Day (Monday before May 25; full weekend)
- Canada Day (July 1; full weekend)
- Labour Day (First Monday of Sept; full weekend)
- Thanksgiving (Second Monday in October; full weekend)
- Christmas Eve (December 24)
- Christmas Day (December 25) Boxing Day (December 26)
CANCELLATION POLICY:
While modifications can be made, cancellations can only be completed by calling the Karen King and Associates office.
